The conduct of an election or referendum requires an electoral officer and team that is knowledgeable, experienced, sensitive to the needs of electors and confident in decision-making. CFNC has a proven track record of meeting these requirements.
Led by Marcus Hadley, the CFNC team has worked on many referendums and elections for a number of First Nations. These include referendums for Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc in 2009, 2010 and 2012 and for Westbank First Nation in 2007, 2008 and three in 2015, and Mamalilikalla-Que’Qua’Sotem in 2015.
The CFNC team has also conducted elections for Westbank First Nation in 2009, Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc in 2011, Penelakut First Nation in 2012 and Seabird Island Band, Prophet River Band and Snuneymuxw First Nation in 2015, as well as election votes for the BCAFN in 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015.
As a lawyer, Marcus also brings the ability to speak authoritatively on issues of interpretation of authorities should such questions arise. As well, he was responsible for the conduct of elections and referendums as part of his duties at Westbank First Nation so that he has a first-hand understanding of the needs of electors and Band administration.
